In June 2004 we began a market case study of VoIP product, that introduced a new alternative to a telephone line to major Canadian cities.
The technology behind Iphone is Voice Over Internet Protocol, commonly known as VoIP. It allows to sustain a two way telephone conversation over the internet. i-Phone was one of the first VoIP services offered in Canada, and Starford managed the first outbound call center for this product.
Technological and economical advantages of i-Phone over its current competitors make this service ideal for cold calls. Efficiency of this project is managed through our internal database. For over 3 years we were able to sustain 0.5 SPH with manual dialing for this product. In order to assist outbound sales, we began active advertising campaign for this product in November 2004. In the beginning of 2005 we began to offer this service through our agents nation wide. As of now we have about 60 active agents in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
Our main strategy for outbound sales for this product is simple and efficient. We found that language and technology was a barrier for some of iphone customers to fully understand the advantages of this product. Therefore we have build our outbound telemarketing comparing on cultural and linguistic bonds between our sales representatives and potential i-Phone customers. Besides the obvious benefits of cultural bonds, we found that percentage of internal referrals increased for sales representatives with same language skills.
Through our experience selling this product we also found that is ideal for our own operation. Currently, we use i-Phone lines in all of our call centers. This allows us to cut down operational cost of telecommunications by 78.8%. For information on i-Phone benefits for call centers please visit our SOLUTIONS page.
Today, we are no longer unique in marketing VoIP technology. From our call centers in Canada and world wide we still create close to 50% of all new i-Phone customers monthly.
